Get involved
Children, young people and families are at the heart of WellChild. We are committed to building an active community of parents and carers that not only talk to and support one another, but also get involved with WellChild.
Currently we have families involved in our WellChild Awards judging panels, and attending events on behalf of WellChild, such as Downing Street Receptions or the Big Dribble. We are now in the process of setting up a WellChild Parent Panel to monitor the current involvement of families and advise us on our future plans.
The best way of finding out how you can get involved with us is by ‘Becoming a WellChild Family’ or by contacting Hannah Bemand who looks after the involvement and participation of families at WellChild.
Find out some of the ways you can get involved now:
Medicines for Children
‘Medicines for Children’ is a website containing leaflets that give practical and reliable advice about a range of medicines.
Through WellChild, parents and carers across the country have been at the heart of building this resource, telling us what information they needed, how they wanted it.
We are still looking for parents to:
-
help us make sure all the information is helpful and easy to understand
-
give your ideas on how we can improve the Medicines for Children leaflets or website
-
become an ambassador and help us to promote the resource
You don’t need any experience, and we welcome parents and carers from all backgrounds. You can get involved from home, and contribute as much or as little time as you feel able to - your help will be very important to us.
Parent Ambassadors
We are looking for parents who will go into the community to talk about the work of WellChild in local schools and support groups, and spread the word through your networks.
WellChild Parent Panel
By becoming a member of this national parent panel, your role will be to help ensure that the needs of families are fully understood and considered in all of our activities. It will also be a panel that WellChild can seek advice from when we need an activity reviewing.
To find out more, email familynetworks@wellchild.org.uk or call Hannah on 0845 458 8171.
Why not get involved by Volunteering or Fundraising too?
