Cause Related Marketing

Cause-related marketing has become one of the most effective ways for companies to create a positive perception among existing and potential customers.

Working with us allows companies and other organisations to align themselves with charitable activity which is making a very real difference to the lives of seriously ill children in the UK every day.

We welcome corporate partnerships with organisations who wish to be as involved as possible with our charitable activities – and we also benefit from the profile and fundraising which those partnerships can deliver.

A cause-related marketing campaign with us can create a very powerful message for all kinds of businesses and brands, and allow those companies to communicate their corporate social responsibility objectives to their customers.

Here’s an example of how it works in practice:

WellChild and multi-national FMCG manufacturer Procter & Gamble were partners in a very successful month-long campaign in September 2008, based in Makro’s UK stores.  Procter and Gamble encouraged customers to choose their products (Fairy, Pampers, Ariel etc) by creating bespoke packaging, point-of-sale and marketing materials.

Those materials clearly communicated that a donation to WellChild would be made by Procter and Gamble for each purchase of those products – creating an incentive for potential customers to choose Procter and Gamble items ahead of those produced by competitors.

That campaign raised enough money to employ a WellChild Children’s Nurse for 12 months, helped to raise WellChild’s profile among tens of thousands of Makro customers, and reinforced the community-focused approach of both Procter and Gamble and Makro.
