teamwork - working together to help sick childrenEverything works better when you do it as a team and we welcome all clubs and societies who would like to support WellChild.

Helping seriously ill children is something we can all get behind and what better way to bond your club members together than by supporting such a worthwhile cause?

There are all sorts of ways you can help us, depending on the type of activities your club is involved in – but you can be sure that whatever help you can offer will be gratefully received and will make a real difference to the lives of sick children and their families.

Perhaps you could organise an event to support us? Or nominate us to be your society’s charity of the year? You may be able to throw the support of your membership into volunteering at one of our events.

Here’s an example of what one society was able to do for us:

Cheltenham Symphony Orchestra made sweet music in aid of sick children in May when they performed to raise money for WellChild.

The concert took place at Pittville Pump Room, Cheltenham and featured guest Conductor Kenneth Woods.

On the programme were Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations, featuring cello soloist James Barralet who was winner of the Philip and Dorothy Green Award for Young Concert Artists 2008. Vaughan Williams’ Symphony no. 5 and Schumann’s Symphony no. 2 were also performed during an evening of wonderful music.

WellChild’s Director of Communications Colin Dyer, said: “We are delighted and honoured to have the support of the Cheltenham Symphony Orchestra. It’s a brilliant partnership to be involved in and it should be a really entertaining evening.
