Health Advisory Panels - Dr Frances Flinter
Frances is a consultant in Clinical Genetics at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust, where she was also Clinical Director of Children’s Services and Genetics from 2000 until 2007, during which time the new Evelina Children’s Hospital was built and opened. She trained in London and specialised in Paediatrics, before a period of research studying hereditary nephritis led to a career in Clinical Genetics. She is a member of the Human Genetics Commission, and was a member of the National Screening Committee’s ante-natal sub group from 2000 - 2005. She has been a member of the Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis team at Guy’s since it was first established in 1997, and worked with the HFEA during the public consultation on PGD in 2001 – 2002.
