Lucy is delighted to have taken over the post of the Wellchild Nurse in Cambridge. Her post started at the beginning of October and Lucy is looking forward to continuing the good work of her predecessor. Most of all, Lucy says, she will enjoy meeting and getting to know the children and families who she will be working with.

Lucy describes herself as calm, kind and practical with a big sense of humour. She also says she knows lots of terrible jokes! She has been a nurse for over 20 years now and has worked in a variety of settings.

Lucy completed her children’s training in 1996 at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge and she has worked on the wards and in Paediatric Intensive Care so she considers her new role to be something of a homecoming. For the past 10 years she has been working as a Community Children’s Nurse in Cambridge which she has really enjoyed.

She considers it has been an honour and pleasure to work with all of the children and families she has met along the way and she hopes that the experiences and skills she has acquired over the past years will be put to good use in her new role.

Lucy is married with two sons. She loves swimming, the great outdoors, camping, walking and escaping to the seaside.
