Tonik refer-a-friend scheme supports WellChild this Christmas

Posted on the 13th December 2017

Putting a positive twist on referral schemes this Christmas, Tonik Energy will donate £100 to WellChild for every successful refer-a-friend sign up. Starting on Wednesday 6th December, Tonik aims to raise £100,000 for our work over the Christmas period in what will be the first of many planned activities to raise money for WellChild in the long term.

There are over 100,000 children and young people living across the UK with serious or exceptional health needs – many spending months or even years in hospital simply because there is no support enabling them to leave.

WellChild exists to meet this growing need at a time of stretched NHS resources. Through a nationwide network of children’s nurses, home transformation projects and family support services, WellChild aims to get these children and young people home as quickly as possible, giving them the best chance to thrive, together with their families.

Tonik Energy’s Managing Director, Chris Russell, says, “We want to have a positive impact not only on the environment but on society as a whole. WellChild is doing extraordinary work and we wanted to help.

“By coming together with our members and potential new customers we hope to raise a significant amount of money that will have a meaningful impact on the lives of seriously ill children and their families.”

Tonik’s Partnerships Manager, Mark Neveu, says, “Families in this situation can have excessively high energy bills due to the need for energy-intensive equipment that often runs 24 hours a day.

“Through our refer-a-friend scheme this December, our goal is to raise £100,000 for this vital charity that seeks to make life caring for a seriously ill child at home easier for families and to give their children the very best chance to flourish.”

WellChild Chief Executive, Colin Dyer said: “We are delighted that Tonik has decided to support WellChild through this referral scheme and we really appreciate all the hard work and positive energy they are putting into supporting our work. You can be sure that all the money raised by the company and its customers will be used to help and support seriously ill children and their families all across the UK.”
