WellChild celebrates its ‘impact every day’ at Christmas

Posted on the 19th December 2018

This Christmas, WellChild publishes a report celebrating its impact on the lives of thousands of children and young people living with serious health needs across the UK.

With a message from WellChild Patron, HRH The Duke of Sussex, the annual impact review entitled ‘Impact Every Day 2017-2018’ showcases a number of front line successes had by WellChild Nurses, volunteers, families and staff over the last year, under the hashtag #impacteveryday. Highlights include:

  • One WellChild Nurse in London reducing discharge times in her area from 4 months to 6 weeks.
  • One child in Scotland avoiding 49 hospital admissions thanks to support from a WellChild Nurse.
  • Celebrating our 300th Helping Hands project with a visit from our Patron HRH the Duke of Sussex.
  • More families connected and engaged through the WellChild Family Tree network than ever before.

WellChild CEO Colin Dyer said: “We are delighted to launch this new report and reflect on the impact our organisation is having every single day on the lives of thousands of children, young people and their families.

In an environment where public services are sorely lacking for this growing population of children and young people, it is down to organisations like WellChild to fill the gaps”
