Ed Chamberlin’s Golf Day a huge success

Posted on the 21st May 2019

This year Ed Chamberlin hosted his sixth annual Golf Classic for WellChild, on May 20th. The day was a huge success, raising more than £46,000 for our work with seriously ill children and their families.

The event, held at The Belfry Hotel & Resort, was attended by a host of celebrities from the sporting and TV world including Sir AP McCoy, Ian Wright, Kieren Fallon and Mick Fitzgerald. A total of 28 teams took part in the event, enjoying a day of golf in the beautiful sunshine.

The event was sponsored by Sky Bet, who ran betting throughout the day with proceeds generously donated to WellChild. Guests had to bet on top team and top celebrity and some of the winners very kindly donated their winnings back to the charity. The day was held in association with Lynx Golf who ran the Lynx Golf challenge on the driving range along with on the course competitions, ‘Longest Drive’ and ‘Nearest the Pin’.

Car manufacturer and longstanding WellChild partner Infiniti Retail Group supported the event and provided the hole in one car, which unfortunately no one was successful in winning. Also supporting the golf day was J.Lindeberg who provided clothing for the players and Creed Foodservice who provided refreshments for players out on the course and Racing Post who created a publication for the day.

The day’s golf was followed by dinner and prize giving. Top celebrity was Kieren Fallon and the winning team was JSC Communications. Top Individual was Johnno Spence  who is also from JSC Communications.

A huge thank you goes to Ed Chamberlin for his continued support for WellChild and our work as well as to all our sponsors and to all who attended the golf day.
