WellChild announce panellists for Festival Focus 2020

Posted on the 23rd January 2020

Ed Chamberlin’s annual Festival Focus event is back for 2020 with an experienced panel of experts sharing their tips for the Cheltenham Festival.

Festival Focus, which will take place on Thursday 5th March at Cheltenham Ladies’ College, will see racing enthusiasts come together ahead of the much-anticipated Cheltenham Races.

We are excited to announce this year’s panellists.

ED CHAMBERLIN @chamberlinsport

WellChild ambassador Ed Chamberlin is the face of British horse racing on ITV. He has presented the Grand National, the ITV team won a BAFTA for their coverage of this iconic meeting in 2017, all five Classics, the Prix de l’Arc De Triomphe and will soon anchor a fourth Cheltenham Festival. Prior to joining ITV Ed hosted the iconic Sky Sports shows Super Sunday and Monday Night Football alongside Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville. Now he has swapped Premier League football for horse racing and heads up ITV Racing’s successful push to broaden the sport’s appeal.

KIM BAILEY @kimbaileyracing

Kim Bailey, whose stables are based at Thorndale Farm, has trained over 1,200 winners and has achieved the magical “Big Three”, The Grand National (Mr Frisk), The Cheltenham Gold Cup (Master Oats) and The Champion Hurdle (Alderbrook). We’re pleased to welcome him back to the panel to hear how he is preparing for the 2020 Festival.

Richard is a Cheltenham Festival and Listed Flat winning trainer with over 20 years experience of training racehorses to the highest level, both over jumps and on the Flat. His stables are based in the beautiful village of Adlestrop here in the Cotswolds.

BRUCE MILLINGTON @brucemillington

Bruce was the Editor for the Racing Post, keeping us up to date with all the latest racing news and stepped down two years ago after 11 years. Bruce is still at the Racing Post on a part-time basis, working on special projects as well as writing and broadcasting. We look forward to hearing Bruce’s expert opinion on the world of racing and tapping into his views on who he believes will lift the Gold Cup and the other big prizes this year at Cheltenham.

Unfortunately Trainer Fergal O’Brien is now unable to attend the event.

Gold Cup week is the highlight of the racing calendar, and you can join us for this exclusive preview event bringing racing enthusiasts together for an evening of top tips, great networking and entertainment, whilst raising money for WellChild.
