Terms and Conditions

Terms & Conditions
1.The promoter is: WellChild (Charity registered in England and Wales 289600 and Scotland SC045010)whose registered office is at 16 Royal Crescent, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire GL50 3DA.
2.Members of the judging panel and their family members or friends shall not be permitted to enter thecompetition.
3.There is no entry fee for the competition.
4.Entries will only be accepted from schools based in the United Kingdom.
5.Route to entry for the competition and details of how to enter are via www.wellchild.org.uk/schoolchoir
6.Closing date for entry will be 12/06/19. After this time no further entries to the competition will bepermitted.
7.No responsibility can be accepted for late entries or entries not received for any reason whatsoever.
8.The rules of the competition and the prize for the winner are as follows:
a.The competition has 3 stages:
Stage 1: Submission of video entry; each individual entry must be submitted with a signed and dated fundraising pledge (hardcopy) or ticked (online submission) with full school address and contact details including a named individual who will act as a point of contact. The pledge should indicate the amount of money the entrant group pledges to raise for WellChild.
Stage 2: Online voting and fundraising to identify the top five schools who secure the most votes and the top five schools who raise the most funds;
Stage 3: The ten winners of Stage 2 will be judged by an independent panel of WellChild celebrity supporters, music industry professionals and others to identify a single winner. The winning entry will be invited to perform their rendition of Lean On Me live at the 2019 WellChild Awards – date and venue to be confirmed. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. No alternative prize will be offered and the prize is not transferable.
b. All entrants must submit a video comprising no more than 20 primary school age pupils from Reception to Year 5 performing the song Lean On Me. Special educational needs schools may submit a video with pupils up to the age of 14 if appropriate – please call Callum on 01242 530007 for further information. The video must be no longer than 3 minutes in duration. All videos must be submitted to WellChild via www.wellchild.org.uk/enterschoolchoir Any entries that do not adhere to these requirements will not progress to Stage 2.
c. All entrants must consent, that in the event that their entry is shortlisted and/or wins that they agree to participate in all reasonable requests for WellChild publicity related to the competition. Reasonable is defined as requests for photographs of the winning group to appear in local, regional and national press, participation in accompanying interviews, articles, etc. both in print and on-line; participation in broadcast interviews e.g. TV & radio. It is understood by WellChild that publicity requests need to respect the constraints of entrants’ circumstances, e.g. the school day; pupil confidentiality; the logistics of having a group of children attend off-site events; etc.
d. It will be the responsibility of all participating schools to secure the appropriate permissions for pupils to participate in the competition video and any subsequent publicity as detailed in section c above. The video will be posted online and thereby be accessible to all users of the internet.
e. WellChild will require the name of the participating school(s) and group to appear on the online voting platform.
f. All videos received will be posted on an online voting website and participating schools will be encouraged to secure votes from their networks. Online voting will open at noon, 12/06/19 and closes at noon, 12/07/19 Terms and Conditions of online voting will be available when voting opens.
g. The five schools that have secured the most public votes, at the time of the vote closing as stated on the online voting platform, will go through to Stage 3. The results of the public vote will be posted on WellChild’s competition page www.wellchild.org.uk/schoolchoir for 28 days following closure of the public vote.
h. The five schools that have raised the most amount of money, (which will be calculated at the same time the public vote closes) will go through to Stage 3. The full results of all fundraising undertaken by participating schools will be sent to the schools by emails and posted on WellChild’s School Choir of the Year Facebook page: www.facebook.com/groups/702595993256580
i. The competition winners will be notified in writing by 02/09/19. The name of the winning school and group will be posted online and used in publicity. In the event of the first chosen winner being unable to perform, WellChild reserves the right to select a runner up.
9. WellChild reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions. Entrants will be notified of any changes to the competition as soon as possible by WellChild.
10. WellChild is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
11. By submitting a video and fundraising pledge all entrants agree to these terms and conditions.
12. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.

Terms and conditions of voting

1. Voters can take part at www.wellchild.org.uk/schoolchoir. Voters can register their vote by electronically clicking on the box beside the school they wish to vote for. 2. Any votes registered outside the announced voting times, 12.00 on 12th June 2019 and 12.00 on 12th July 2019, will not count. Voting times may be subject to change. 3. A standard vote carries a weighting of one. Each voter can only register one vote online via the voting webpage. WellChild will announce via www.wellchild.org.uk/schoolchoir when voting is closed and the result of the final vote. 4. WellChild reserves the right to cancel, suspend or extend the voting period at any time. 5. WellChild reserves the right to disqualify votes if it has reasonable grounds to suspect that fraudulent voting has occurred or if it considers there has been any attempt to rig the voting. WellChild has the right to substitute an alternative selection method at its absolute discretion. 6. The eligibility of any vote is at the sole discretion of WellChild. 7. If, for any reason, the online voting system fails, the vote may be suspended or a contingency plan may be actioned. 8. WellChild reserves the right to change, cancel or suspend this competition at any time. 9. WellChild cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem with any internet connectivity, on-line system, server, provider or otherwise which may result in any vote being lost or not properly registered or recorded. 10. Please note that members of the WellChild School Choir of the Year Judging Panel are not eligible to vote. 11. WellChild’s decision in relation to all matters affecting the vote is final. 12. In the event of a dispute, a tie or if for any other reason WellChild deems it necessary or appropriate; WellChild reserves the right to make the final determination as to which of the entrants will be declared the winner. 13. 14. WellChild reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions without prior notice. Any changes will be posted on this website and such posting will be adequate notice to all participants. 15. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by English Law.
