Over 125,000 people apply for a ballot place direct through the official London Marathon website www.virginmoneylondonmarathon.com. If you have been successful they will inform you in October.
It is best to apply for a ballot place as well as doing so through WellChild. Applications to join our team start on London Marathon race day and you will then be informed if you have a place by June. To apply for a WellChild Guaranteed place complete the application form.
Pledge to raise £1,600 in sponsorship (not including Gift Aid). If you have secured your own place there is no set target and we just ask you to raise as much as you can.
Join the team and you’ll receive your training and fundraising pack that gives you loads of advice. In addition you will receive regular enewsletter updates, technical running vest, fundraising materials, post race reception with food/drink and professional leg massage. You will also benefit from our cheer points around the course who will encourage you to the finish line. The WellChild Challenge Events Manager Mel will also be on hand to give you any advice and is on the other end of the phone to prepare you for your big day!
You’ll need to train hard as marathon running is no easy challenge! You need to be able to complete the course in under six and half hours.
No, just a pair of trainers and a lot of determination!
