WellChild is the national charity for seriously ill children based in the centre of Cheltenham. We fund programmes and services to help care for and support children and young people living with serious illness or exceptional health needs.

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join and play an active role within our busy Challenge Events Team. WellChild is involved in and runs a variety of Challenge Events each year including the London Marathon, Three Peaks Challenge and Great North Run and the programme is growing. It is an important income stream for WellChild as well as providing excellent opportunities to raise awareness of our work. This is an exciting post, supporting the management of existing events and the further development and expansion of the programme.

Role responsibilities will include all aspects of office administration, dealing with general enquires, data input, communicating with and motivating participants to reach their fundraising goals, as well as some marketing, research, sales and supporting on site at events.

Interested candidates will be able to demonstrate recent experience in an administrative/support role.  Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and a positive ‘can do’ attitude are essential for this post. You will be a confident communicator able to build relationships and have the ability to effectively prioritise and work calmly under pressure and to tight deadlines. You will also be a competent user of Microsoft Office applications. An interest in fundraising and challenge events would be an advantage.

This is a three day a week role based in Cheltenham but will involve some travel away from the office and working outside of normal hours.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religious belief, sexual orientation or age.
