WellChild HQ, Cheltenham (with some travel throughout the UK)
Hours of work
29 Sep 2019
WellChild is the national charity for seriously ill children and their families. Through a UK-wide network of children’s nurses, home and garden transformation projects and family support services, WellChild, which has HRH The Duke of Sussex as its Patron, exists to give this growing population of children and young people the best chance to thrive – properly supported at home, together with their families.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly organised, empathetic and proactive individual to join our ambitious and high-profile organisation where families are placed at the heart of everything we do. This is a diverse and interesting role responsible for the development and expansion of one of WellChild’s key areas of charitable activity – the WellChild Family Tree.
The successful candidate will have at least two years demonstrable experience working with and engaging families and young people. They will be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, will have exceptional communication skills both written and oral and will be able to work independently and manage a fluctuating and diverse workload. Empathy, sensitivity and the ability to appreciate the impact on others as well as experience in producing and editing audience appropriate information for families is essential. Experience of working in the children’s health sector would be an advantage.
This post is primarily based in Cheltenham but will involve some travel throughout the UK and working outside of normal hours.
We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religious belief, sexual orientation or age.
