WellChild is the national charity for seriously ill children and their families. Through a UK-wide network of children’s nurses, home and garden transformation projects and family support services, WellChild, which has HRH The Duke of Sussex as its Patron, exists to give this growing population of children and young people the best chance to thrive – properly supported at home, together with their families.
A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR professional to join our ambitious, high-profile and fast-paced organisation. This role works across the organisation and is responsible for the provision of human resources services and policies and programmes.
The successful candidate will be CIPD qualified and will have at least three years significant generalist HR experience as well as a thorough understanding of employment law and preferably contract law. You will understand the workings of a smaller organisation and will have the ability to coach, support, mentor and challenge managers in line with HR policies and procedures. You will have experience in recruitment, budget preparation and management, absence management and overseeing pension provision and the payroll process.
You will need to be able to demonstrate outstanding communication skills and be comfortable interacting with all levels of stakeholder. It is essential that you possess confidence, professionalism, the ability to maintain confidentiality, a passion for problem solving and are able to handle difficult conversations when necessary.
