Helping Hands Information Hub

Welcome to the Helping Hands Information Hub. Here you will find a range of inspiration, advice and information about how to improve your outdoor space for the whole family. We will be adding new content about a range of different garden topics every month or so.

Sensory Gardens

Sensory gardens connect people with their outdoor space and help everybody to relax. A sensory garden is a space the whole family can enjoy, but they can be especially therapeutic for children with sensory processing needs, helping them to feel grounded and reduce stress. The articles below are a great starting point for finding inspiration to create a garden that stimulates the five senses – sight, sound, smell, touch and taste. You could choose just two or three of these senses to focus on if you are short on space. Other sensory garden resources are available from the RHS and the Sensory Trust.
