The Donkey Sanctuary Ivybridge
Working Sanctuary offering Donkey Assisted Activities for clients by referral, open to visitors at select times. Works with children (school year 5 and above) young people and adults. Offers Donkey Assisted Activities (DAA) including Donkey Facilitated Learning (DFL), Donkey Management Programme (DMP) and Wellbeing with Donkeys (WWD). These ground-based activities support the development of people's life skills and wellbeing, helping individuals to better deal with challenges in everyday life, while also promoting positive attitudes towards donkeys. There is a referral process to access the services. Anyone interested in accessing one of the DAA programmes must first obtain support through a referral organisation. Please contact us directly to discuss this. Visitors of all ages are welcome to visit free of charge during select visiting times at weekends or additional dates listed on their website. You will need a free, pre-booked ticket which can be booked online or by calling the centre.

Cycle Derby offer a range of adapted bikes including tricycles, wheelchair tandems, companion bikes, and many more that cater for a broad range of impairments. Our fleet is suitable for ages 5 and upwards and offer self hire, instructor-led sessions, and can cater for larger community clubs. Staff at Markeaton Park have invested heavily and created a path around the entire site which is ideal for wheel chair users and specially adapted bikes.
