Cheltenham based communications agency Target has made a huge difference to help seriously ill children and their families, during a three-year partnership with WellChild in which they have raised £20,585 to support the work of the charity.

Target staff have carried out a wide and varied programme of fundraising for WellChild, the national charity for seriously ill children, headquartered in Cheltenham. The eleven-strong Target team had originally chosen to support WellChild for their 40th Anniversary year in 2017, kicking off with a very popular bacon roll delivery service to local office workers.

The team continued to throw themselves into fundraising, with highlights including an annual golf day at Brickhampton Court Golf Complex in Gloucestershire. Target staff have also taken part in a Step Up for WellChild challenge in which each walked an impressive 257km. The distance was set by six-year-old Oliver who has a very rare condition called alternating hemiplegia of childhood. The 257km represents the round trip his family have to make from their home to Great Ormond Street Hospital in London to visit his specialist.

WellChild Chief Executive Colin Dyer said: “We would like to thank Target for their creativity and energy in supporting WellChild’s work over the last three years. The money they have raised will be of tremendous benefit in our work to support seriously ill children and their families throughout the UK.”

Sarah Bryars, Chief Executive of Target, said: “It’s been a pleasure to support WellChild’s life-changing work over the past three years. We’d like to thank everyone who has responded so generously to our fundraising activities, and to the WellChild team for inspiring us.”
