Get a chance to celebrate the highlights of the jump racing season and support WellChild

By Charlotte Edwards · September 17, 2021

A chance to attend an event which is one of the highlights of the year in the world of racing is up for grabs to help WellChild.

WellChild has ten tickets to the McCoy Awards for sale to raise funds for its work to help seriously ill children and their families across the UK. The table of ten tickets, which will be sold in five pairs, are available here >>

The McCoy Awards, which are not open to the public, are the Jockey Club Jump Racing Awards and celebrate the brilliance of Jump Racing with a ceremony and dinner at Cheltenham racecourse. The black-tie event on Thursday October 7th features the finest dining from the in-house catering team and celebrates the humans and the horses who have been heroes in the sport this season.

The awards recognise the achievements of owners, trainers, jockeys and stable people as well as the achievements of the standout horses of the season. You can find out more about the McCoys here >>

The event organisers say: “As we reflect on the triumphs and the highlights, we leave no stone unturned, and our awards appreciate every character in this sport. From the unwavering support of Owners to the often-unsung dedication of Stable Staff, The McCoys exist to recognise the individuals without whom this sport would not prosper as it does.”

WellChild Chief Executive Colin Dyer said: “WellChild has received fantastic support from the Jockey Club this year, including being charity partner of the Cheltenham Festival and the Gold Cup this season, which raised more than £200,000 for WellChild.

This latest initiative at the McCoy awards will give ten lucky people the opportunity to attend a central event in jump racing which is not usually open to the public, as well as providing funds to support WellChild’s work in what has been a particularly tough period for the charity and the families we support.
