A Dazzling Second Year: WellChild’s Christmas At Sudeley Event Raises Over £50,000 For Seriously Ill Children Across The UK
WellChild, the national charity for seriously ill children, is delighted to announce the resounding success of the second annual Christmas at Sudeley event, held on Monday, December 16th, at Sudeley Castle in Cheltenham.
Hosted by Lady Ashcombe and sponsored by M&A boutique, LAVA Advisory Partners, this exclusive evening in which Television star Rosie Turner acted as MC, brought together art collectors, international business leaders, philanthropists, and supporters for a night of festive goodwill, raising vital funds for children and young people with complex medical needs.
Against the stunning backdrop of Sudeley Castle’s Spectacle of Light, which was closed to the public for the evening, guests were treated to captivating private performances by multi-award-winning opera singer Anush Hovhannisyan, virtuoso harpist Angharad James and live party band, The Shuffles. Upon arrival, the festive atmosphere was set with carols sung by the Pates Grammar School Choir, followed by a decadent 3-course feast and an energetic live auction.
This year’s auction showcased extraordinary items, including one-of-a-kind artworks, exclusive luxury experiences, and memorabilia generously donated by supporters of the charity. The standout moment of the evening came when many of the evening’s guests repeatedly pledged sizeable donations to WellChild in a bidding frenzy which saw a Boodles diamond necklace raise over £10,000.
“As we celebrate the second year of this wonderful event, we are overwhelmed by the generosity of our supporters, our fantastic sponsor, LAVA Advisory Partners, and the continued partnership with Lady Ashcombe and her team at Sudeley Castle. Together, we’re not just creating a highlight in the seasonal events calendar but building an occasion that allows us to continue making a profound impact for the families across the UK that need it most. Thanks to the success of Christmas At Sudeley, we can continue our vital work to get children with complex medical needs out of hospital and thriving, at home.”
