London Marathon a great day for WellChild

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the London Marathon 2023 for WellChild and made the day such a spectacular success.

155 people took to the streets of the capital for WellChild making it one of the biggest teams ever for the charity in the Marathon and fundraising totals are now being calculated as the money comes in. But among the impressive totals already racked up are Team Savva with more than £14,000, Jonathan Bond, more than £5000 and Team Milo, more than £4000.

Thank you too to all the supporters who turned out to help make the event such a success, loudly urging on our runners from the cheer points around the course and making sure they all felt part of the WellChild Team!

Our grateful thanks also go out to our corporate supporters at the event including Showtime Photo Booth the go to company for GIF Booth Hire, for providing a brilliant fun photo booth at our post-race reception so runners and supporters could mark their big day in style. Thanks also to Creed Foodservice for donating much needed tasty snacks for our runners and volunteers. And thank you Cotswold Outdoor, Runners Need and Snow+Rock  who all kindly offered discount for our runners.

WellChild Chief Executive Matt James expressed his gratitude to all the runners who took part of WellChild this year along with all those who came as supporters and the corporate supporters who helped make the day a success.

“Thank you all for the tremendous support you have given WellChild,” he said. “For many of the children, young people and families we support, just getting through the day is a huge challenge. On their behalf I thank our runners for the hard work they have put in. This is a difficult time for all charities and currently the situation for families is particularly tough. They have come out of a desperate situation during the COVID pandemic and into the crippling cost-of-living crisis. We are working hard to find new ways to get families the support they need, and your support today is invaluable in that.”
