Trekking Mount Toubkal at home

When the WellChild Toubkal Trek was postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, WellChild supporter James from Wiltshire decided he would not let that stop him from taking on the challenge.

James decided to tackle the mountain at home, climbing the height of Mount Toubkal, 4,167m, on his staircase! James also got his friends and family involved in the makeshift trek and they raised £210 to support our work with seriously ill children and their families.

Throughout lockdown WellChild supporters across the UK have found unique and creative ways to continue to support our work. Team WellChild have worked hard to help us try and recoup the 60% of our income lost through cancelled, or postponed fundraising events and partnerships.

A total of 23 keen trekkers were due to join us on the trek to summit Mount Toubkal, which would have taken place at the start of this week. All of the trekkers have been fundraising for WellChild since they signed up for the challenge last year.

A huge thank you to James and his friends and family for continuing to support WellChild during this difficult time.
