Paediatric Palliative Care Webinar

We are excited to announce that we will be hosting a FREE webinar on paediatric palliative care with Anna Jones.

Join us for a friendly and informative webinar exploring one of the most misunderstood terms in children’s healthcare: palliative care.

For many families and professionals, the word “palliative” can feel frightening; it’s often mistaken as a sign that support is being withdrawn, that hope is running out. This session will gently unpick that myth.

We’ll explain what palliative care really means: not the withdrawal of support, but the addition of care, ensuring children achieve the best possible quality of life and that symptoms are well managed throughout their lives.

What the session will cover

During the session, we’ll:

  • Look at the national paediatric pathway
  • Explore how services are delivered (many of which are charity funded, meaning provision can vary significantly across the country)
  • Touch on advance care planning and why early conversations matter.

This session will be delivered by Anna, a paediatric nurse and children’s community nurse specialist. Anna has spent many years working in palliative care services, including a role as director of a children’s hospice, and brings a wealth of specialist experience to this topic.

Our aim is for you to come away with a clearer, calmer understanding of what palliative care actually offers, and the confidence to talk about it without fear.

Bring your questions! There’ll be 15 minutes for open discussion at the end.
