Sunflower House
Sunflower House provides shared care and short stays for children with disabilities, sensory impairments and learning disabilities. They can also have complex health needs. Children can come to Sunflower House for a variety of reasons. For your child to make new friends, have fun and be given the opportunity to participate in new activities and gain more independence. It is also time for families and carers to have a break. Staff cater for a wide range of care, medical and dietary needs and are all fully trained in these areas. Everyone works together as a team to offer children individual choice and opportunities. The staffing levels vary depending on the children’s needs. Sunflower House is a purpose built bungalow with five bedrooms, located in a quiet residential area close to local amenities, bus stops and parks. There are spacious bedrooms with an intercom system, lounge / dining room, conservatory, kitchen, bathrooms, toilet facilities and laundry room. Admission to Sunflower House is through referral from the Children with Disabilities Social Work Team.

Open Access Play
Torfaen Play Service provides community play opportunities for children and young people aged 5-15 years in the form of after school clubs, half term and summer play schemes. In addition to this, support is provided for children and young people aged 5 - 18 years with disabilities to access community play provision. Support is provided to young people aged 16+ to volunteer within community play settings during holiday times, including young people with additional needs. Full training is provided. Term time training placements are available with Torfaen Play Service. This includes support to learn work-based skills, to work in a variety of settings including schools and community based venues as well as achieve an accredited qualification. Interplay (Integrated Play & Leisure)
Interplay provides access to play and leisure opportunities for children and young people with additional needs aged 2-25 who find it difficult to access the same mainstream play, leisure and social activities as their peers. They work with children at all levels from profound and multiple disability, learning disabilities, physical impairments, sensory impairments, autism, ADHD, and challenging behaviour. Their main criteria is that without additional support the young people would not be able to gain access to play and leisure opportunities. A variety of leisure schemes for children with additional needs, disabled children and young people within the county of Ceredigion. They provide a range of playschemes and respite for children and young people between the ages of 4 and 25. Playschemes Take place during Ceredigion School Summer Holidays Lots of fun activities and outings for the children such as horse riding, swimming and beach trips to name but a few. Activity Days Take place during Ceredigion School Summer Holidays Small groups of young people and support staff go on day outings. The young people can choose where they would like to go and what they would like to do. Frendz This a mobile youth club that goes out during evenings each week in term time. Activities include horse riding, arts & crafts and film nights, cooking. Away Weekends Small groups of young people stay away for the weekend a local adapted accessible bungalow – a specially adapted bungalow with a sensory garden in the grounds.
