Sunflower Competition 2024!

Calling all budding Charlie Dimmock’s and Monty Don’s! WellChild’s annual competition is back and this time it’s sunflowers!

WellChild’s Sunflower Competition 2024!

Simply, grow one of our WellChild Giant Sunflowers over the summer and you could win some exciting prizes; categories are:

– Tallest

– Biggest Sunflower Head

– Most Unique

Who Can Enter?

Our sunflower competition is open to children and young people, and their siblings of families supported by a WellChild Nurse, members of the WellChild Family Tree, families who have had a Helping Hands garden or bedroom makeover, and previous WellChild Award winner families.

What’s in your Competition Pack?

Included in your FREE competition pack are sunflower seeds, plant markers, wooden bug and flower shapes to decorate your plant marker.

Competition packs must be requested by 30th April 2024 for seeds to be planted. Request your pack by completing the form at the bottom of this page.

What will you need?

You will need to provide some compost, area or pot to plant your seed in, and a watering can with water! WellChild Giant Sunflowers can be grown easily in either pots or the ground.

Registration for the Sunflower Competition Pack has now closed

Submissions for judging must be received by the 6th September 2024. To submit an entry, you must provide:

1. Photo of the full length of the sunflower

2. Height of the sunflower

3. Circumference (width) of the sunflower head

Sunflower Growing Competition Terms & Conditions

1. The promoter is: WellChild (Charity registered in England and Wales 289600 and Scotland SC045010) whose registered office is at Office 23, Sunningend Business Centre, 22 Lansdown Industrial Estate, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, GL51 8PL.

2. Members of the judging panel and their family members or friends shall not be permitted to enter the competition.

3. There is no entry fee for the competition.

4. Entries will only be accepted from members of the WellChild Family Tree, families supported by a WellChild Nurse, families who have had a Helping Hands Garden or bedroom makeover, and previous WellChild Award winner families.

5. There are 3 stages to the competition which are as follows:

Stage 1: Enter the competition by requesting a competition pack before the 30th of April 2024. Stage 2: Submit your sunflower photos and stats to email: [email protected] before midnight on the 6th September 2024. You must submit:

1. Photo of the full length of the sunflower

2. Height of the sunflower

3. Circumference (width) of the sunflower head

4. Entrant’s name

Stage 3: Internal judges consisting of WellChild Staff will vote to select 1 x winner for each category who will win 1 x £100 All-in-One gift card (non-transferable) and a trophy.

6. The judge’s decision is final, and therefore, no correspondence will be entered in to.

7. The competition winner will be notified either by telephone or email on or by 13th September 2024. If the winner fails to claim their prize after one week of being contacted, WellChild reserves the right to select another winner.

8. No responsibility can be accepted for late entries or entries not received for any reason whatsoever.

9. WellChild reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions. Entrants will be notified of any changes to the competition as soon as possible by WellChild.

10. WellChild is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.

11. By receiving a competition pack and submitting an entry, all entrants agree to these terms and conditions.

12. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
