Thanks to cyclists who did RideLondon for WellChild

More than 20,000 cyclists overall completed the 30, 60 or 100 mile events. For the first time the route finished coming over Tower Bridge, which provided an epic finish line for the event.

Among the WellChild team there was great feedback on the new route through Essex. And the event was felt to be a fantastic and rare opportunity to do so many miles on closed roads.

Among the cyclists who took part was Melanie Parker, WellChild’s Head of Challenge Events and Supporter Engagement, who took part in the 100 mile ride.

She said: “Over the years I’ve been fortunate to support hundreds of cyclists who have taken on the RideLondon challenge in order to raise vital funds for WellChild.  On Sunday I was able to join our fabulous Team WellChild cyclists to complete the event.  The atmosphere on the course was amazing, and although the final five miles seem to go on forever, the finish coming over Tower Bridge was amazing and a little emotional!  For anyone who’s thinking of a challenge event for next year – I urge you to sign up to RideLondon, you won’t regret it!”
