Parenting Special Needs Podcasts
These podcasts offer a mix of lived experience, expert insight, and emotional honesty for families, carers, and professionals. Whether you’re looking for practical advice, a sense of solidarity, or just a place to laugh (and maybe cry), these shows offer real voices and real stories that reflect the everyday realities of parenting a child with complex medical needs.
The Skies We’re Under
The Skies We’re Under is a podcast by and for parents of people with disabilities and the many practitioners who support them. The Skies We’re Under is for anyone trying to get from one week to the other whilst bridging the gap between the life they expected and the one they are actually living.
Hosted by author and qualified nurse, Rachel Wright, The Skies We’re Under harnesses the power of storytelling, laughter, swearing and good old rant. Each week interviews with special guests cover topics such as family, well-being, trauma, trust and diagnosis days. It also includes pessary gate, accidental flashing, Poonamis, and many more moments of hilarity.
Whether a well-seasoned parent, newbie, one of many practitioners supporting families or someone wanting to peak over the fence – you’re welcome to listen in.

Let’s Take Care
Let’s Take Care is a podcast offering an unfiltered, emotional, and empowering insight into the lives of parent carers. Hosted by two mothers of grown physically disabled children, the show is an honest exploration of what it means to care – for life – and still find the strength to fight, love, laugh, and keep going.
With nearly three decades of lived experience each, hosts Jane and Melissa bring warmth, humour, frustration, pride, and truth to the mic – tackling topics too often left in the shadows.
From the physical toll of hands-on caring to the psychological exhaustion of constantly battling the system, Let’s Take Care is a rallying cry for carers who are too often unseen and unheard.
