Learning how to provide care to your child with serious health needs at home for the first time can be daunting. Even once your child has been home from hospital for a long time, you still need to keep training to make sure you know how to use equipment and what to do in an emergency.

Tracheostomy and LTV resources

The National Tracheostomy Safety Project has developed online courses to help people understand Tracheostomies and how to care for someone with a Tracheostomy. These resources are aimed at health professionals, but many parents will find them helpful. Visit the NTSP website to find out more.
The NHS Long Term Ventilation (LTV) Service has a host of online resources to help parents, carers, and professionals look after children with tracheostomies or non-invasive ventilation equipment. Visit their website to browse and find a resource that’s helpful to you.

E-Learning for Healthcare (ELFH) offer online courses on a range of medical topics for children and adults. Most ELFH content is available to anyone. Users must make an account to access course content. Browse and search for courses that are relevant to you on their website.
