Enjoy exhibitions, craft activities, talks and presentations in the Library, Museum, Art Gallery and Aquarium. The museum welcomes visitors with disabilities, including families with children and adults on the autism spectrum.
Inside the museum and galleries there are a variety of displays and exhibitions which include interactive touch screens which can be accessed from a sitting or standing position, oral interpretation exhibits, interpretation boards with pictures and large text.
Some of the accessibility features include:
- Social story available to download to help visitors prepare for their visit.
- Children's ear defenders available to borrow in all library and museum spaces.
- Magnifying glass, pen and pad of paper available on request
- Staff trained in disability awareness.
- Within the museum there is a shop, toilets and changing places.
- On street, Blue Badge parking spaces available on Le Mans Crescent. Main entrance door is automatic and accessible by wheelchair users.
