Centre 404 provide information, advice, guidance and support around understanding disability and entitlements; health and wellbeing; life transitions and income maximisation.
They work towards a world where the families of people with learning disabilities have the support, they need to enjoy the same rights, freedom, responsibilities, choices, and quality of life as people within the wider community.
Support for families
They support family carers with subjects such as:
- Helping understand disability related issues.
- Giving information and advice to help people access the right services.
- Giving information and support around applying for welfare benefits, disability benefits and grants.
- Signposting on to other services.
- Support groups, workshops and activities
Services offered
Centre 404 run:
- Regular coffee mornings for family carers.
- Workshops and information sessions on topics relating to learning disabilities and autism.
They also support two important forums for Islington residents: The Islington Parent Carer Forum and the Family Carers Action Group.
