Independence at Home is a charity that provides grants to people of all ages who have a physical or learning disability or long term illness and who are in financial need.
This financial help enables them to obtain mobility and disability equipment, home adaptations and other essential items to make an immediate, practical and positive effect on daily life at home.
A grant could be towards:
- A powered wheelchair, improving mobility in and around the home and in the local community.
- A riser-recliner chair, to be able to sit comfortably and go from sitting to standing more easily.
- A wet room, to be able to have a shower independently and safely.
They only accept grant applications from health or social care professionals, or advisors or support workers from other organisations or charities.
