Sycamore Trust UK is a charity supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and learning difficulties, and their families, across Barking & Dagenham, Havering, and Redbridge. Their aim is to empower individuals to flourish, educate communities, and provide tailored support systems. They offer:
Family Support
- Parent & Carer Groups: Share experiences, access advice, and practical resources.
- Benefit Application Guidance: Help with DLA, PIP, and EHCP applications.
Autism Services
- Havering All-Age Autism Service: Peer groups, parent support, and advocacy.
- Autism Hub Drop-In: Sensory rooms and professional advice in Romford.
Youth & Early Years
- Speak With A Picture: Communication programme for nonverbal preschoolers.
- Alpha & Bravo Groups: Life skills training for young people.
- Young Women’s Group: Creative, supportive space for ages 18+.
Adult Programmes
- Respite Services: Day outings for individuals with autism.
- Parenting Pathways: Skills for young parents with learning difficulties.
Training & Resources
- Workshops on autism and communication strategies.
- Community campaigns and awareness initiatives.
