Wirral Youth Zone, named by young people as ‘The Hive’, is a purpose-built facility for the city’s young people aged 8 – 19, and up to 25 for those with disabilities.
HIVEABILITY
All activities at The Hive are accessible for all young people with a disability or additional need. But The Hive also run dedicated HiveAbility sessions too. Offering the same huge range of things to do across the art, music, sports, media, kitchen, salon and rec areas with a bit more support, space to reduce the noise if you need to and careful planning so that each area doesn’t get too busy. Hiveability sessions run on Sundays 10am - 2pm.
The Hive building is fully accessible, with all meeting and conference spaces on the ground floor, accessible toilets, a hygiene suite with tracker hoist and bed, and a lift to the rooftop.
