Blackburn Youth Zone – Darwen Site
Blackburn Youth Zone has something for every young person, open 7 days a week and offer over up to 20 activities each evening within Blackburn and Darwen. The Youth Zone is a purpose-built facility offering a wide range of activities, including dance, climbing, digital creation, sport, music, media, employability and mentoring. The Youth Zone includes a four-court sports hall with facilities for indoor tennis, badminton, football, netball and basketball and a separate climbing wall, as well as a fitness suite with the latest gym equipment and an outdoor multi-use games area. Inside the Youth Zone there is also a kitchen and café area selling healthy food and drink, multi-purpose areas for dance, music, arts and crafts, gaming and DJ-ing, martial arts and boxing facilities Diversity Zone for childen and young people aged 8 - 21 with SEND. Diversity offers members a smaller, accessible session that helps young people breakdown barriers which may have previously stopped them from engaging in activities and remove them. All activities are fun, engaging and accessible catering for every ability where possible. Diversity sessions are free for members. See timetable for weekly activities and session times.

Shared Sounds
Interactive musical play sessions for children from birth to 4 years olds. Songs, rhymes, and creative free musical play and exploration with sound makers. Music sessions include support for young children's wider learning and early development in areas such as speech and language, communication, social interaction, literacy, confidence, coordination, motor skills. Support for parent/child bonding, interaction, mental health and wellbeing Free sessions for children with SEND at Shadsworth Children's Centre due to funding support from The National Foundation for Youth Music. The Children’s Disability Service Youth Club
The Children's Disability Service Youth Club is for children and young people with low to moderate disabilities. This means that children who are already receiving their own dedicated package of support following an individual needs based assessment will not be eligible to access this club. Children and young people who attend have the opportunity to form friendships with other young people with similar needs and abilities, and develop skills of independence and socialising without their parents or carers. The Club offers activities such as arts, crafts, baking, computer games, drama, sports and activities of the young people's own choice and interest. There is no charge to access this service and referral is via telephone.

Big Blue Door
Big Blue Door is a centre where children and young adults with disabilities can receive respite care and support. They provide a wide range of services to children and young adults with disabilities and/or Autism aged 0-17. The company provides a flexible and responsive service to meet the client’s needs 7 days per week/52 weeks per year. The centre has a ball pit, soft play area, hydrotherapy pool, quiet spaces, TVs, computers, games consoles, books, laundry facilities and medical beds.
