Special Olympics Great Britain (GB) is a non-profit organisation and largest provider of year-round sports training and athletic competition in summer and winter sports for children and adults of ALL abilities with intellectual disabilities. They offer year-round training and competitions in a variety of summer and winter sports for children and adults of all abilities. Special Olympics GB is open to anyone regardless of age or disability. They also have a Young Athletes Programme for those aged 2-7 years. Their focus is on the child or young person's abilities, providing them with opportunities to compete at local, national, and international levels over a wide range of different sports. POLKA Where Theatre Begins
POLKA Where Theatre Begins offer a range of access performances. These include: Audio Described performances; BSL Interpreted and BSL integrated performances; Captioned performances; and Relaxed performances for those with sensory sensitivities. During relaxed performances auditorium lights are kept on at a low level, loud sound levels, flashing lights, and haze (water vapour that looks like smoke) will be reduced or removed; audience sizes will be smaller; and a designated chill-out space is provided. Our Sensory Suite in the Clore Learning Studio is available for private hire as well as booked events. If you need a quiet space whilst visiting, just let us know – we’ll help you to find it. There is level access to our Adventure Theatre. There are 4 wheelchair spaces available in our Adventure Theatre and 6 wheelchair spaces available in our Main Theatre. We have gender-specific, gender-neutral and accessible toilets available. We also have baby changing facilities.
