The NMC supports young people with neuromuscular conditions and their families. Khaas
Khaas seeks to promote the comprehensive needs of BAME disabled children, their carers and families. They run weekend respite care throughout the year, providing short breaks for families, who have children with disabilities and additional needs. The Saturday/Sunday Respite care provides for many families who find it hard to access main line organisations due to language and cultural barriers, providing free time for parents and carers. Other services offered include, summer activities, family trips and outings, Yoga, social interaction, lunch clubs, alterative therapies, workshops, sewing classes, arts and crafts and 1:1 counselling. Sensory Support Service – Bristol
The sensory support service provides advice and support to make sure that all children and young people with sensory impairment have the best opportunities to learn, develop and grow. They provide advice and support to children and young people with sensory impairment (hearing, vision, or multi-sensory impairment) from birth to 25 years of age, their families and educational settings. Their work covers: Assessment and identification of needs of children and young people with sensory impairment, including statutory assessments of Education, Health and Care Needs Advice and support to families enabling them to promote their child's development Advice, support, and training to ensure educational settings meet the needs of children and young people with sensory impairment in their settings Developing programmes of work and provide direct teaching of specialist skills for children and young people. Amaze is for any family in Brighton & Hove or East Sussex that includes a child or young person aged 0-25 with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND). They work with children and young people with SEND and with their parent carers. Your child does not need to have a formal diagnosis to get support from Amaze though some of our services have rules about who is eligible.

SEND Short Breaks – Assessment and Specialist Inclusion (Bradford)
SEND Short Breaks is a team that specialises in researching, identifying, running and monitoring short break services for young people with disabilities aged 0 to 18 years throughout Bradford and districts. This includes after school, evening, weekend, and school holidays. For example, popular after school clubs, dance and drama, sports and when available Summer Camps that could offer overnight residential stays during the Summer Holidays. We can also offer, based on assessed need, funding for 1:1 support in the community or activities of your choice. Accessing a short break is via an assessment of need which highlights the most suitable activity to meet the needs of each child and young person. The team work closely with a wide selection of short breaks providers in Bradford and districts to identify a variety of activities of interest that may be suitable. We also monitor each provision to ensure a high level of service. The SEND Short Breaks Team consult with young people to capture their wants and wishes regarding what they feel is an activity they would like to do. This also encompasses their comments on how we are doing. This consultation work enables children and young people to participate in co-production of our services moving forward. The SEND Short Breaks access criteria is: -Aged 0 to 18. -Have a Special Education Need or Disability (SEND), evidenced via an EHCP -Not currently accessing any activities or groups or accessing any other type of short break. -Not already be in receipt of any Direct Payment or Personalised/Individual budget. -No social care involvement, for example no allocated social worker. Lagan’s Foundation aims to physically help support families who have infants and children up to 19 years old, diagnosed with complex health conditions specialising in heart defects and feeding difficulties. Lagan’s Foundation’s provides unique home health care and respite in the North West for families & children living with complex health needs. They offer individual and flexible care services to families via donated care, 1:1 and 2:1 commissioned care. Lagan’s Foundation currently work with a number of NHS Trusts, ICBS, Local Authorities and other community groups.
