Postural Care Webinar with Sarah Clayton
A postural care webinar hosted by WellChild and delivered by Sarah Clayton.
Children and young people who find it difficult to move themselves are at risk of spending lots of time in a limited number of positions. These unsupported positions in combination with gravity and difficulties with muscle tone mean that changes in body shape can happen. This can make participation and having fun more difficult for the child and those providing their care.
In this friendly and informative introductory webinar to postural care, designed especially for families, Sarah Clayton explains how supported lying can protect body shape, improve comfort, and be a vital part of 24-hour postural care.
With over 25 years of experience, Sarah is a true expert in the field of postural care. Her work includes:
- Training clinicians and teams internationally
- Conducting pioneering research in postural care
- Supporting families as a specialist in body symmetry and nighttime positioning
She also brings a deeply personal perspective as a mum of four, including her eldest daughter who lives with a complex brain injury and learning disability.
