Wetwheels offers a unique opportunity for disabled and disadvantaged people of all ages – including those with multiple, profound and complex impairments – to access the water. This helps to broaden aspirations, increase confidence and directly impact on health and wellbeing. Wetwheels aim to ensure everyone can access the water with a safe, barrier-free, enriching experience. Wetwheels experiences for disabled people are provided by a growing network of Wetwheels Operators based around the UK. They are currently operating in Edinburgh, Hamble, Jersey, Solent, South East, South West, Torbay, Yorkshire, and will soon be opening an operator in Cymru. Wetwheels Hamble has her home at MDL’s Mercury Yacht Harbour in Hamble, so is perfectly positioned to operate across the Southampton region, the Isle of Wight and the South Coast. The Wetwheels experience is designed to enable every disabled person the chance to experience the excitement of power boating. Wetwheels boats are truly unique by being fully accessible – not just giving you the chance to be a passenger, but also to take the helm as the skipper – everybody gets the chance to drive! We depend on the goodwill of our wonderfully experienced volunteers and generous donors to bring Wetwheels to you. Wetwheels offers a unique opportunity for disabled and disadvantaged people of all ages – including those with multiple, profound and complex impairments – to access the water. This helps to broaden aspirations, increase confidence and directly impact on health and wellbeing. Wetwheels aim to ensure everyone can access the water with a safe, barrier-free, enriching experience. Wetwheels experiences for disabled people are provided by a growing network of Wetwheels Operators based around the UK. They are currently operating in Edinburgh, Hamble, Jersey, Solent, South East, South West, Torbay, Yorkshire, and will soon be opening an operator in Cymru. Wetwheels Edinburgh is the newest addition to the Wetwheels fleet, and her home is Port Edgar, situated just outside Edinburgh. Wetwheels Edinburgh will be operating on the East coast of Scotland, perfectly positioned to access Edinburgh, and numerous other ports and harbours on the banks of the Firth of Forth, such as Dundee, St Andrews, North Berwick, and Anstruther. The Wetwheels experience is designed to enable every disabled person the chance to experience the excitement of power boating. Wetwheels Edinburgh is truly unique by being fully accessible – not just giving you the chance to be a passenger, but also to take the helm as the skipper – everybody gets the chance to drive! They have scheduled trips and experiences from our main base in Port Edgar, and these can all be tailored to suit each individual and group. These experiences could include viewing the majestic UNESCO registered Forth Rail Bridge from the sea, meeting the seals and puffins on the local islands, or seeing the Naval Dockyard of Rosyth where the new aircraft carriers were constructed. They will also be operating outreach programmes to other parts of Scotland, and would welcome enquiries about these if you would like Wetwheels Edinburgh to come to you! Radnor Park Play Area
Radnor Park Play Area is an accessible playground for wheelchair users. There is a fence around the whole playground. The gate is wide enough for a wheelchair to fit through. The paths and entrances to and within the playground are flat and step-free, and wide enough for a wheelchair user. You can get to all the equipment in the playground without using steps. The roundabout is flat to the ground so a wheelchair could roll onto it. There is a quiet area to hide in; a garden, with plants to smell and touch; some natural landscaping; a bench away from the main equipment; and a bench near the main equipment. There is an accessible toilet.

Archerfield Walled Garden
Archerfield Walled Garden has a spacious garden shop, a magical fairy trail, a garden cafe, a food market, an 18th century walled garden, an enclosed play park and extensive grounds. Archerfield Walled Garden is largely wheelchair accessible. All of the entrances have double doors. There are four blue badge holder parking bays, located close to our entrance. There is an accessible toilet within the main building which has an electric adult size height adjustable change table. The Car Park, Garden Café, Bar, Play Park, Food Market, Gift Shop and Toilets are all on one level with lots of space. Our Courtyard, which is often used for events, is lightly gravelled. The Fairy Trail is on a natural path through the woods and hasn’t been altered for accessibility, however, there have been lots of buggies and wheelchairs on the trail without any issues. They now have a wheelchair available for visitors. If you would like to use it, please ask staff at the Garden Shop till when you arrive. This venue has an open air car park with a tarmac surface. There are 4 Blue Badge parking bays.

Glasgow Science Centre
Glasgow Science Centre has hundreds of interactive exhibits in the Science Mall, a Planetarium, Scotland’s biggest-screen IMAX cinema, a Science Show Theatre, a fantastic cafe and a shop filled with goodies. A limited number of disabled parking spaces are available in our car park. Parking for Blue Badge holders is free of charge. When you arrive at our main ticket desk, please present your parking ticket and the operator will discount your parking. The main entrances and exits to Glasgow Science Centre are wheelchair accessible. Wheelchairs are available from the Ticket Desk. Please ask a member of Science Centre staff if you require a manual wheelchair for the duration of your visit to the Centre. Please note this is available on a first come first serve basis. In the seated theatre spaces within the Centre, there are spaces allocated for wheelchair users: IMAX — 4 spaces Science Show Theatre — 6 spaces Auditorium — 4 spaces Planetarium — 6 spaces Please call the Contact Centre on 0141 420 5000 when making your booking and they will make arrangements for you.

Butterflies Day Nursery
Butterflies Day Nursery provides high-quality, year-round care tailored to your child’s needs, helping them flourish from their earliest days through their preschool years. The 0-3 Room is a safe, engaging space tailored for the youngest learners, including a dedicated area for babies aged 0-1. The Preschool Room (Ages 3-5) supports school readiness with a variety of activities and early learning opportunities. At Butterflies, every child is welcome, and the team is specially trained to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Butterflies Day Nursery is committed to creating an inclusive, accessible, and welcoming environment for all, regardless of background or ability. The indoor play area is on the ground floor of the building and double doors and a ramp at the side ensure wheelchair access.

St Andrews Beach Wheelchairs
The beautiful beaches in and around St Andrews should be accessible to everyone including those with mobility issues. St Andrews Beach Wheelchairs solve this problem by offering free rental of a beach friendly wheelchair. They have available: Small child hippocampe, medium child Hippocampe, large child / small adult Hippocampe, 4 Debug chairs, Nomad Desert, and a Beach Walker. They also have a hoist available - users will need to provide their own sling. St Andrews Beach Wheelchairs will be open from 2 April 2025 until the 29th October 2025. Beach Wheelchairs are available to rent on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays. Advance booking is advised but walk-ins are also welcome. Woodlarks – Accessible Campsite
Woodlarks was established in 1930 and has provided accessible camping for people with all kinds of disabilities ever since. Children and adults alike come to Woodlarks to experience new things and often go home having exceeded their expectations. Woodlarks enables anyone, whatever their ability, to have the fun and fellowship of affordable camping and outdoor activities in a glorious woodland setting. Willing volunteer help and state-of-the-art accessible facilities ensure that disability need not be a barrier to adventure and that you can play a full and active role in camping. Accessible washrooms with ceiling hoists and specialised equipment are readily available. There are indoor sleeping spaces, but also access to canvas camping facilitated by mobile hoists and profiling beds. Here people discover new skills and abilities, have adventures and make new friends in an environment designed to meet their individual needs.

Apple Tree Town
Play town for children and toddlers aged 1 and above with special area for babies. Children will have lots of time to discover what the little role play town has to offer, the themed role play areas have been built with little imaginations in mind, offering a full immersive experience that fully encourages development, communication and social skills of young children. During peak times (weekends and school holidays), you will have to book a 2 hour set session. Apple Tree Town has been designed with full wheelchair access. SEN sessions available with reduced numbers.

Lakeland Wildlife Oasis
With over 100 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates, the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis is a unique and exciting blend of wildlife and interactive hands-on displays. Located just five minutes off junction 35 of the M6, the zoo is home to lush indoor tropical halls, walkthrough enclosures and picturesque outdoor spaces – making the zoo great fun no matter the weather! Delicious, wholesome food is available every day from the Wild Café, which has a conservatory and outdoor picnic area. The centre is all on one level, with wheelchair access throughout and a good view from a seated position into most exhibits.
